What's really interesting is that they've dropped not only fall 2013 dates, but winter 2013/2014 dates as well.
A lot of them seem to be fairly decent routes, with 1 stopover each way, typically in Los Angeles or San Francisco.
Here's how to find them...
1..Try a 3 day flexible date search using Kayak around the dates you're interested in, to see what's available.

If you're interested, I would act fast. I saw these appear briefly over the Easter holiday, but didn't even have time to post it before the fares went back up. They were around for literally just hours. There's no telling how long United will keep them down for this time.
One thing to note is that United does have a 'Farelock' feature. For a small fee, when you search for a fare using United's site, you can hold the quoted fare for 72 hours while you decide whether you want the flight or not.
Unfortunately, dates around Christmas do not look to have dropped, as usual.
Note: For anyone having trouble booking on United's site with a Canadian credit card, you may want to try the same dates on Orbitz or Expedia. Or try going through United.ca, as opposed to United.com
NOTE: I have also heard from multiple people that they had trouble booking through United's website using their Mac, and then tried using a different computer and all went well.
UPDATE 1, April 02 - Seeing some fares today for even less, as cheap as $339 roundtrip after taxes. Although those ones appear to have 2 stopovers each way.
UPDATE 2, April 02 - Found some date combinations that are as cheap as $299 roundtrip after taxes! [screenshot]
UPDATE 3, April 02 @ 7:33 PM - The prices on United from Calgary to Maui, NYC, and Miami appear to have gone back to normal.

16 hours of flying time and 3 connections? No wonder it's so cheap. Someone would have to be insane to book this. Calgary had direct flights to Hawaii.
I'm seeing plenty of flights with just 1 connection and a reasonable layover. Maybe try different dates Chris.
I spent over an hour trying to book because the United website continuously gave me errors and now all the prices have gone back up :(

I am trying to book a trip to Maui in Feb and I get all the way through, including entering payment info and then it kicks back saying something to the effect that I must have a Canadian address - which I do. Any tips would be appreciated. Really want to go!

Hey Chris, I tried a few times to book for Feb and the United site lets me book all the way through and then when I say it's a Canadian billing address it adds another $300 to the price.

It worked for me. United Airlines with one connection to Maui booked for $376 per person (round trip, taxes, all in). My trip is booked for January 2014.
For those that had some issues with the United website. I, too, had some problems initially. I was on a desktop Mac using Google Chrome as my browser. It also booted me out just at the payment stage. I went to my laptop Mac and was able to book through and pay without issues. Don't know what the glitch was. If you are having problems, I suggest using the United.ca website and trying a different web browser.

I also had trouble booking this one on the website, so decided to use the phone option instead. Finally got it booked and the confirmation came through missing on flight leg! United is willing to book the fourth flight, but wanted to charge more. Now in the process of trying to use the 24-hour cancel option.
Yuck!
Same problem here,when you get to the end it tacks on an additional 300.00 to the price calling it taxes that were already accounted for earlier in the "final price" once you type in a Canadian billing address .

We finally did it. It was tough to get it booked. We had the same problem as another user and couldn't book on our Mac. We finally tried on our PC after seeing Ken's note and got our trip booked.
Naomi, I had same issue, what you have to do is go to the United home page, make an account, and search from the home page. it then takes into account your account address and the price will show up with a CAD behind it.
Took me 30 minutes to figure it out.

P.S. Thanks Chris, we booked a 9 day trip for 2 adults and a 5 year old, but since we didn't want to rush into it we paid the $40 to lock the price for 7 days to make sure that is what we want.

Just booked the 4 of us for a final total of $1,518.84 ($379.71 pp) end of Jan 2014. There was no extra charges laid on using Cdn info. I was so busy when I got your email that I took your advice and booked/pd for the 72 hour hold on-line no problems. Glad I did as when I tried to book this PM and check other flights the system froze much like the others indicated. I called in and provided cc over the phone and got the flights as promised. Thanks!
Booked 2 ppl for $750 CAD over Remembrance Day! We did do 2 connections (SFO/LAX), but compared to the 1 stop flights they were the same amount of travel time.

Book January flights for two. Only one stop, YYC>LAX>OGG, return OGG>SFO>YYC. All in cost was $753. Had a few issues with the website, but got it to work on the 2nd try. Thanks for sharing!

Been to Maui before. Found it far too windy. But other than the wind, it's a nice place.
I just booked for 4 of us in February 2014 and had to call United customer support as it kept on giving me errors. Had to be on hold for over an hour while they tried to confirm the flights and honor the price I got online. They admitted their website has a glitch to it and alot of errors. I was on-hold for so long because while they can honor the prices for the United flights they had to call Air Canada to get the prices for those legs of the trip.
Either way..took over an hour but paid $1575 for 4 of us! Amazing!!
