Air Canada Rouge has dropped the price of their last minute non-stop flights from Calgary to Huatulco, Mexico over the Christmas and New Year's break down to $516 to $542 CAD roundtrip including taxes.
WestJet is also showing a flight from Dec 26 to Dec 30, for $491 CAD roundtrip, but that's a pretty short trip.
This is actually pretty close to the typical best prices for a non-stop roundtrip flight from Calgary to Huatulco.

What about a place to stay?
Curious about how difficult it would be to actually book something at the last minute over Christmas, I took a look on Airbnb for the dates of these flights.
There were only 8 Airbnb listings remaining in Huatulco.
When I clicked on 'Instant Book' that number dropped to 2 listings.
Only 1 of those listings had reviews (4.5 stars after 4 reviews, $114 CAD /night for 2 people).
In other words, the pickings are slim unfortunately, as to be expected at this time of year.
