Air Canada has dropped the price of their flights from Calgary to Prince Rupert, BC down to $283 CAD roundtrip including taxes.
The flights have 1 stop in Vancouver each way.
Vice-versa flights (Prince Rupert to Calgary) are also available for a similar roundtrip price.
There's a few reasons this deal caught my attention...
a) Prince Rupert (YPR) is one of those small Canadian destinations served by only one airline. In fact, YPR's only commercial flights are between Prince Rupert and Vancouver. For that reason, the price to fly there is usually ridiculous. This is the first time in 15 years I've ever posted a deal to YPR.
b) This deal is available for May and June travel. Perhaps the most notable reason to visit Prince Rupert is to visit the Khutzeymateen Inlet, one of the few places in the world you can view grizzly bears living freely in the wilderness from a safe distance. And, well, the peak time to visit the Khutzeymateen Inlet for grizzly viewing happens to be between mid-May and the end of July.
Although it should be noted that the 7-8 hour tour to view the grizzly bears costs more than the flight ($300/adult). It does sound amazing though.
And you would probably want to check their calendar first for availability.
