Calgary to Singapore, and then Beijing, China to Calgary - $556 CAD roundtrip including taxes

United Airlines is showing open-jaw flights that allow you to fly from Calgary to Singapore, and then return home from Beijing, China for $556 CAD roundtrip including taxes.
The flight between Singapore and Beijing is not included, but it's pretty common to find one way flights between Singapore and Beijing for $140 to $180 CAD on airlines such as Air Asia.
Alternatively, you could book a one way flight from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for $53 CAD on JetStar.
And then another one way flight from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Beijing, China for $150 CAD on AirAsia.
If you do that, you can visit Singapore, Malaysia, and China for a total price of around $750 CAD for all flights involved.
You can also choose to return from Shanghai instead of Beijing, for a similar price.
Note: Canadians usually require a visa to visit China. There are visa-free exceptions for up to 6 day stays in Beijing, but research the rules carefully.
