Calgary to Auckland, New Zealand - $891 CAD roundtrip including taxes | overnight stays required

There are some pretty crazy prices from Calgary to Auckland, New Zealand at the moment, using a combination of Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines.
However, the flights do require an overnight stay in Los Angeles on the way there, and in Honolulu, Hawaii on the way home (sometimes it is the other way around).
Flights from Calgary to New Zealand generally don't fall much below $1675 CAD roundtrip, so the savings can be substantial. But you do need to factor in the extra cost of 2 nights hotel, and decide whether the extra travel time is worth it for you.
Update @ 11:05 PM - It seems like these have all either sold out or just plain disappeared.

August and September 2016 and
November to mid December 2016
Remember that New Zealand's seasons are reversed from ours.
August is winter, with highs of 15C in Auckland
September is spring, with highs of 16C in Auckland
November is spring, with highs of 20C in Auckland.

Hi everyone,
I spent a year in NZ on a working holiday and took advantage of a similar deal. They're out there and they show up from time to time. I paid about $800 for my one-way trip there, and $500 for my one-way trip back.
Often the cheapest way is to find a flight from LA to Auckland or Honolulu to Auckland, sometimes in the 3-400 range, and then arrange for a flight from your nearest int'l airport to LA or Hawaii. It can be done and I expect around June or July you'll find similar prices for August-Sept travel.
Keep checking Google flights for these airports and I guarantee you'll make it to NZ at a great price!
