Any info (conveniently) available on travel to Thailand (yes, I'm being lazy) Its seems its generally more difficult to return to your own country (if is Canada) than to visit others. The $800 ticket is cheaper than the $2000+ covid hotel, so that seems like easy math.

Thailand is going through a phased approach to open back up to tourists, and has been providing constant public updates about their plans.

    April 1st:
Quarantine for visitors will be reduced from 14 days to 10 days for all arrivals.

    Sometime in May:
Phuket, Chiang Mai, Koh Samui, Krabi, Pattaya, and Phang Na will reopen to fully vaccinated tourists. Tourists will still have to quarantine, but for 7 days instead of 10.

    July 1st:
Vaccinated tourists will be able to travel to Phuket with no quarantine. Koh Samui is working on being able to do the same.

    Sometime in October:
If all goes well in Phuket, the quarantine requirement will be dropped for other popular destinations in Thailand (Chiang Mai, Koh Samui, Krabi, Pattaya, Phang Na)

    2022:
Thailand will reopen to all tourists without quarantine

At the moment, it is technically possible to visit Thailand *with* a quarantine on their end. During quarantine, you need to stay in one of Thailand’s 'Alternative State Quarantine' facilities, and have Covid-19 insurance with $100,000 worth of coverage that covers the length of the trip

And then you also need a Certificate of Entry (COE) and negative covid-19 PCR test result (within 72 hours of departure).

While Thailand has been doing quite well with covid up until now, they have just recently started to see a spike in cases.

Thank you for the info. I did hear that places like Phuket were really hurting, but with these restrictions it’s no wonder tourism is depressed.Yikes! Sorry to hear about the vaccine requirement. Maybe once it’s been fully studied, tested and approved

I hate to be the one to break the news to you RF...

    - There are already vaccines that have been studied, tested, and approved. In fact, they are being administered right now, around the world. In fact, even in Canada, right now!

    - Most countries around the world have restrictions right now. The vaccines (mentioned above) are taking us to the goal of not having the restrictions and getting back to our lives.

Better check your sources. Approved for emergency use is different than fully approved.

I've been down this road before, and don't really feel like going down it again. So I'll just say best of luck to you, and I hope you get to travel where you would like to over the next few years.
