Air Canada Rouge has dropped the price of their late August and September 2018 flights from Calgary to Glasgow, Scotland down to $668 CAD roundtrip including taxes.
The flights have 1 stop each way, in Toronto.
Yes, these flights are in August and September *2018* - a long time from now.
Glasgow isn't too far from Edinburgh (about an hour's drive).
KLM has also dropped the price of their October/November 2017 and March/April 2018 flights down to $685 CAD roundtrip. These are off-season flights, but the advantage of the KLM flights is that you can turn them into 2-in-1 flights and visit both Amsterdam and Glasgow for $685 CAD roundtrip.

Try dates in October/November 2017 or March/April 2018. There are also some departing in late April, returning in May.

1. Try a Google Flights search like this one...
Google Flights: Calgary to Amsterdam, and then Amsterdam to Glasgow, and then Glasgow to Calgary
2. As for the dates to use, you may want to try searching for a regular roundtrip flight first (see the above paragraph).
For example, let's say you found a regular roundtrip flight from Calgary to Glasgow for $685 from Apr 24 to May 8.
On the Google Flights Multi-City search page (the link from above), you would use Apr 24 for the first flight.
And May 8 for the last flight.
You can play around with the middle date to give yourself more or less time in Amsterdam vs Glasgow.
3. Once you've selected your flights on Google Flights, click through to the KLM website
