Calgary to Las Vegas - $178 CAD roundtrip including taxes | non-stop flights
4
July
WestJet has dropped the price of their non-stop flights from Calgary to Las Vegas down to $178 CAD roundtrip including taxes!
Unfortunately perfect Vegas weekend flights are not available, just Wednesday and Saturday flights.
The price drop is in response to low cost carrier Frontier Airlines new non-stop flights from Calgary to Las Vegas (which, not coincidentally, are available on Wednesdays and Saturdays).
Availability for travel
August, September, October, November 2018 (up to November 14th)
How to find and book this deal
1. Try the following Google Flights search:
Google Flights: Calgary to Las Vegas
- Click on the departure date box to open up the calendar view and browse for the cheapest date combinations.
- Look for the dates that are $209 roundtrip.
- Try Wednesday and Saturday dates.
2. Go to Priceline
- Search for a flight from Calgary (YYC) to Las Vegas (LAS)
- Use the same dates you found on Google Flights.
NOTE: Some dates may only have 1 seat available
On Priceline, the price will show up as $136 USD roundtrip including taxes. Priceline is *always* in $USD.
This will work out to $178 CAD roundtrip when booked using a Canadian credit card, and including the typical 2.5% credit card foreign exchange fee.
If you use a credit card that does not charge foreign exchange fees, it will be even cheaper.

Update @ 10:20 AM MST - These seem to be going pretty quick.
Some dates that are showing up as $209 on Google Flights are jumping to $389 when selected. I would avoid trying those dates as it means they have likely sold out on Priceline.
Other dates are still showing as $209 on Google Flights even after you select the flights. This is an indication that those dates are still available.

Sep 1 to Sep 15
Oct 13 to Oct 17
Oct 20 to Oct 24

We've been trying to book flights, and after entering all our info, the flight isn't able to be booked :(
Melanie, are the dates you're trying still showing up on Google Flights for $209?

Is there a reason why westjet shows that the flight is no longer at $209, but on priceline you are able to book the flight for $209? Will the flight price and flight still be honoured on priceline?

Monica, Priceline is one of the best/fastest in the world at being able to issue tickets (unlike some booking sites that get back to you a day later and apologize for not being able to issue the ticket). If the transaction has completed, all is likely well (you may want to wait 24 hours before booking anything non-refundable like a hotel room, just to be sure).
These are also not a mistake price, WestJet is responding to Frontier's announcement of their new flights between Calgary and Las Vegas.
If you are not succesfull on Westjet you can still find cheap seats on Frontier. It's ultra low cost so a no frill seat is around $180 CAD roundtrip
Just be aware of two things with Frontier:
- prices on their website are in $USD
- their prices do not even include carry-on, which is $60 USD roundtrip.
Their cheapest prices are currently $118 USD roundtrip ($154 CAD roundtrip). Adding the cost of carry-on to compare against WestJet's prices brings Frontier's more realistic price up to around $232 CAD.
Update @ 12:30 PM MST - Not many dates left now.

Hi Chris,
How awful do you think Frontier Airlines is? Thanks!
Hi Rach, I've never flown with Frontier, the only other route they have from YYC is to Denver which started this spring. They do get pretty terrible reviews on AirlineQuality.com
While I wouldn't put too much stock in any one negative review of an airline (people rarely review airlines when things go well), their overall score is a 3 out of 10 which is pretty low. For comparison, WestJet and Air Canada are ranked 5 out of 10.
With Frontier in my opinion it will worth it more if you are a couple or family and you pay for only one checked bag and keep just valuable as free personal item.
