Calgary to London, UK - $288 roundtrip after taxes ?!
18
April
Update @ 1:35 AM - Seems to be sold out now? I'm not seeing the $288 price anymore. This is also the most popular post in YYCdeals history with over 900 Facebook likes!
-------------
If this doesn't turn out to be a mistake this will be the craziest price to Europe since the 2009 fare to Spain for $100 roundtrip after taxes.
Here's how to find it...
1. http://www.canadianaffair.ca
(a reputable and well known site)
2. Search for a flight from Calgary to London Gatwick, departing on April 28 and returning on May 10.
Hit 'Find Flights'
3. About halfway down the page, you'll see a box that says 'SPECIAL FLIGHT OFFERS'. Click on the little plus symbol to open it.
Now you'll see a couple of flight options for $273 roundtrip. Click on Book.

When I see a price this insane, I tell people your best chance is to book it online. Don't call.

Just booked it!!! OMG
doesnt work when you try to book your seat
I've heard from some that if you try to pre-select your seat it won't work. Would recommend trying it without pre-selecting your seat to see if that helps.
I couldn't find the 'special flights' section.. is the deal over?
Hi Kristen, unfortunately it is. It sold out about 12 hours after it was posted, it was one of the most popular blog posts in YYCdeals history.
heart breaking
Must have been a price error.
The taxes alone are more than the cost of the flight, and you can't lower the taxes...
I'm thinking it was supposed to be this each way.
Ted: It's hard to say what this one was exactly, but it's definitely not uncommon for charter airlines like Air Transat to offer flights where the 'taxes' have been lowered to reduce the overall cost of the flight.
The key is that the 'taxes' are actually 'taxes and fees'
It was somewhat common this winter to see Air Transat offer fares to southern destinations from various Canadian cities for a base fare of $199 + $0 in taxes/fees. Again, the key is the overall cost, they had just shifted the actual 'taxes' they really need to pay to the base fare and reduced/eliminated the more subjective 'fees'.
My husband purchased our ticket when he was made aware of the deal but I don't believe there was an option to buy insurance on the site. I don't know if it's due to the excitement of a cheap flight ticket that made us unaware of it (if it was there) or if travel insurance wasn't available for purchase for this particular flight. Should we call in and request for travel insurance or should we purchase it elsewhere?
