British Airways is showing some interesting price drops from Calgary to the island of Jersey, the largest of the Channel Islands, which is a dependency of the United Kingdom, but actually located pretty close to France.
Here's a map of where Jersey is located, relative to London....
Jersey has a few attractions, such as Mount Orgueil Castle, some scenic bays and shorelines, and over 200 restaurants.
History buffs would likely want to visit Normandy on the way from London (see map above).

There are a few different ways you can book this deal...
OPTION 1. Fly from Calgary to London Heathrow (non-stop), and then home from Jersey to Calgary, for $511 CAD roundtrip including taxes

Click on the departure date box to open up the calendar view and browse for cheap date combinations

Booking it this way, you would be responsible for getting yourself from London to the island of Jersey.
IMPORTANT: On your way home from Jersey (JER), the flight has a stop in London, and involves an airport change (London Gatwick to London Heathrow). If you play around with the return date on Google Flights you can find different lengths of stay in London. I would not recommend any options that give you less than 5 hours in London to make the airport change. You can find options that give you a half day in London, or nearly a full day.
2. Select your flights and click through to the British Airways website for booking.
