United Airlines has dropped the price of their flights from Calgary to Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, Brazil down to $769 CAD roundtrip including taxes.
Flights to Brazil have been *very* expensive for over a year now, and this is a pretty significant price drop.
The flights have 1 stop each way, in Houston or Chicago.
NOTE: Canadians require a visa to visit Brazil - although as of a few weeks ago, it's a lot easier to obtain one, and the price has dropped dramatically.
You can now get an e-visa for Brazil online, sparing you from physically going to an embassy or consulate. Just Google for 'e-visa Brazil Canadian' - it should cost around $40 USD.

How to find and book this deal
1. Try the following Google Flights search:
Google Flights: Calgary to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Google Flights: Calgary to Sao Paulo, Brazil
- Click on the departure date box to open up the calendar view and browse for the cheapest date combinations.
- Look for the dates that are $770 to $858 roundtrip.
2. Go to Momondo
Search for a flight from Calgary to ...
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (RIO)
or
Sao Paulo, Brazil (SAO)
- Try the same dates you found on Google Flights.
TIP: After your Momondo search completes, select '1 stop' on the left hand side.

Update 2/9 - Delta has now dropped the price of their March and April flights from Calgary to Sao Paulo, Brazil (GRU) down to $775 CAD roundtrip including taxes.

- Click on the departure date box to open up the calendar view and browse for the cheapest date combinations.

Update 2/12 - United Airlines has now dropped the price of their flights from Calgary to both Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, Brazil down to $769 CAD roundtrip including taxes.

Google Flights: Calgary to Sao Paulo, Brazil
- Click on the departure date box to open up the calendar view and browse for the cheapest date combinations.
- The cheapest dates are in February, March, April, and May.
