WestJet has dropped the price of their flights from Calgary to Tokyo, Japan down to $879 CAD roundtrip including taxes.
The flights are nonstop both ways.
Note that 'Golden Week' in Japan is from April 29 to May 5th (accommodations and transit can be difficult and/or expensive during this time).
UPDATE - Not quite as cheap as before, but some dates have become available for ~$932 CAD roundtrip. Mostly in September. A few in June and November.
