January all inclusive packages to Panama are cheap at the moment

Thanks mostly to some cheap flights to Panama on Air Transat at the moment there's now a couple of all inclusive packages that are about 30 to 40% cheaper than they usually are.
1. The first one is the Royal Decameron Beach Resort, which usually hovers at around $1400/person after tax for the cheapest one week trip from Calgary. Flight, hotel, food, drinks, etc.
The January 4 departure however, is currently at $889/person after tax.
So what's the quality of the Decameron in Panama like? From the 824 reviews on TripAdvisor , I would place it on the high end of average.
When it comes to resort quality for your money, you're just not going to do as well in Panama as you would in say, Mexico. There's far less competition (less resorts), and flights to Central America are a lot more expensive.

2. The second one that has dropped is to the Radisson Decapolis, which is extremely nice. 90% of reviews on TripAdvisor recommend it.
Normally the cheapest packages hover around $1600/person after tax, but the January 11 departure has dropped to $1139, or about 30%.
Flight, hotel (7 nights), food, drinks, etc. One should note though, the Radisson isn't on the beach, it's in a great location right in Panama City.

So if you're looking for a good deal on an all inclusive package that isn't Mexico/Cuba/Dominican, Panama could be worth a look at the moment.
