Rexall to offer 15,000 aeroplan points to western Canadians for transferring a prescription

For 1 day only on Saturday December 4th, Rexall will be offering 15,000 aeroplan points for a transfer of a prescription from a NON-Rexall store to a Rexall store as long as the prescription is actually filled and picked up that day.

NEW customers only. The other stipulation may be that you can not have been a customer in the past 5 years. At least, that's what Rexall has said with previous offers similar to this one (although they've never been this lucrative).

This offer is only valid in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and NWT. This is not valid in Ontario. Certain prescriptions ie narcotics can not be transferred.

This offer hasn't been made public yet, bit of an inside tip.

If you do the math, Aeroplan points are usually worth about 1.6 cents per point, based on what you can redeem them for (flights, etc).

So one could say that this offer is worth about $240 in flights.

Isn't 15k in errorplan points worth a round trip short haul flight? So, YYCYVR, YYCSEA, YYCPDX, YYCYCG, YYCYLW, or even the super pricey yet useful YYZBOS, YYZORD, YYZMSP, etc?

Therefore, the 15k is worth a LOT more than $240, I'd say it could be worth up to $800, judging by how much YYZBOS has been these days.

Could definitely be worth more than $240 to some people.

Calgary to Vancouver usually hovers around $300ish roundtrip after tax. Seattle and Portland around $450ish. Kelowna around $250ish.

You should be able to get between Toronto and Boston for less than $800. Right now most of Continental and American Airline's flights in January are around $300-$350 roundtrip after tax. The other 4 airlines are all under $400.

Chicago is about the same. Minneapolis looks the most expensive, at around $500ish for most January flights.

Definitely though, depending on the situation, it could be worth more than $240. But you also have to remember that errorplan will charge you $100 or so (fuel surcharges).

Great tip - I took advantage of this at the Rexall in Mayland Heights -- Awesome!
