Those of you that have been following my posts for nearly a year might remember the Expedia flub last November that lead to packages to Vegas for as cheap as $19/person after taxes & fees for flight + hotel packages from all across Canada.

It looks like Alaska Airlines just dropped the price of their flights to Seattle down to $267 roundtrip after taxes.

While I do watch for interesting fares out of Montana, the truth is that it's pretty rare to see one that's worth the drive. Allegiant Air has cheap flights to Vegas, but on the major airlines, prices from Montana aren't usually significantly better to warrant the 5 hour drive from Calgary. We're not like Toronto where we can hop across the border to Buffalo. Flying out of the U.S. for us is a significant investment of time.

UPDATE: September 9th - Take this blog post, and substitute the city of New York for Philadelphia (PHL) and Charlotte (CLT) on United. They've dropped their prices to those cities down to about $340 roundtrip after taxes, across the board, throughout 2011 and 2012.

Update August 10th: As of 10:50 AM, United has put their winter flight prices to Miami back up to around $700. Unfortunately this one wasn't around for very long during waking hours, it dropped late last night.

American Airlines just dropped another one of those cheap flights to Chicago. Try July 2 to 4 on AA.com - $335 roundtrip after tax, direct each way.

Anyone that's ever tried to fly to Denver knows it's not a cheap city to fly to. Fares usually hover in the $500 range or more.

If anyone's looking for a last minute May long weekend idea, there's a flight on American Airlines to Chicago for $334 roundtrip after tax.
