2 in 1 trip: Calgary to Tokyo, Japan AND Cambodia for $617 CAD roundtrip including taxes

Tokyo, Japan and Angkor Wat in Cambodia

There are some amazing airfares available on All Nippon Airways that allow you to visit both Tokyo, Japan and Cambodia for just $617 CAD roundtrip including taxes.

The initial flight from Calgary to Tokyo, Japan has 1 stop in Vancouver.

The flight between Tokyo, Japan and Phnom Penh, Cambodia is also included, and is non-stop.

On the way home, there is an all day stop in Tokyo. You arrive at Tokyo's NRT airport in the morning, and then depart from Tokyo's HND airport (close to downtown Tokyo) in the evening.

Availability for travel

October 2016 to April 2017

November to March is generally considered the best time to visit Cambodia.

How to find and book this deal

1. Go to Momondo.ca

2. Click on the 'Multiple City' option

3. Search for the following:

Calgary (YYC) to Tokyo (TYO)
Tokyo (TYO) to Phnom Penh, Cambodia (PNH)
Phnom Penh, Cambodia (PNH) to Calgary (YYC)

4. As for the dates to use, try...

Tuesday to Thursday to Thursday dates
or
Tuesday to Thursday to Friday dates

between October 2016 and April 2017.

One or the other may work better, depending on the month. Dates around Christmas are unlikely to be cheap.

It's worth experimenting with other days of the week to see what might be available.

Not every date combination works, but there seems to be a pretty high number between October 2016 and April 2017 that do.

What if I want to stay longer in Tokyo?

You can try playing around with the middle date, to see what comes up. It seems to usually bump up the price by at least $100.

Flight Network promo code

You can bring the price down another $10 CAD once you get to Flight Network by using the promo code: 3P10OFF321

You'll find the spot to enter the promo code on the passenger details page (after you've selected the flight). It can be difficult to find.

Here's a screenshot of where to enter it: (look near the bottom)

With such deals having multiple destinations, can the second leg (ie trip to Cambodia) be cancelled part of the way through? I only want to go to Tokyo, but don't really want to go to Cambodia. What would happen if I cancelled while in Cambodia, or just didn't fly to Cambodia and just stay in Japan til the flight back to Calgary?

I agree with CM, Tokyo is somewhere I'd want to start and stop at, then come back to Calgary. Any options?

I think the $627 deal is done - best I can find is $727 (i.e. 19th Jan, 27th, 3rd Feb) - I was getting $627 earlier in the day but didn't pull the trigger...

Total BS. Twice I purchased at 727 and both times I got a call back advising fare had increased and so I ended up cancelling. This was all shortly after I got the notification from here, so frustrating.

When you go to mono do.ca, I can't find such an option like "multiple city"! Has anyone find the same problem??

    Has EG been here?
       EG on August 13th, 2016

JM, I had the same problem, the "multiple city" option was difficult to find. On mine it was on the bottom left corner and presented just as a two word "round trip" or something similar, which then when clicked on offered some choices, one of which was "multiple city".

With regards to the flights, I went onto the ANA website and fiddled with dates, I got the price down to 7-something with a week-long stopover in Tokyo, but, I noticed the return flight went through San Francisco and was operated by United Airlines. The last time I flew on a flight operated by United Airlines, but booked under another carrier, United wouldn't let me pre-select my seat, not even if I paid extra, not even if I phoned in. So I had to wait until I actually showed up at the airport to select my seat. I showed up early and was the second to get up to the check-in, and was told the closest they could seat me and my son was five rows apart. I created a bit of a fuss and was taken into a back room where an upper level individual went onto the computer in front of me, the closest we could get me from the seat map he had access to was one row away from my son. When I got onto the plane I discovered that there were quite a few people who had had the same experience, and not only that, but there were seats on that plane that were empty but which hadn't showed up empty on the seat map that the check-in person had access too. I will never fly a United Airlines operated flight again.

LAME! After you're on Momondo and click the dates selection you've decided on it takes you to the Flight Network website. Friend and I booked at $727. Received booking confirmation emails right away. Today we both received emails advising the airline cannot honour the price and has auto cancelled the trip. A 1-800 number was provided for Flight Network to find out 'other options'. They advise that Momondo is a search engine that gets prices from all over the world, but that it's not always accurately updated. She advised when looking at search engine sites to go back and enquire with the airline about flight prices. Turns out, with the airline we thought we would be flying, their price is the lowest, but is $1,311.81. As for ;other options,' there were none at the $727 price.

I just thought I would update because I was set on making this trip work, although it morphed into something else, I'm very excited!
Feb 25 - Calgary to Tokyo
March 1st from Tokyo to Ho Chi Min City
March 10 - Ho Chi Min to Calgary via Tokyo
Flights are operated by Air Canada, All Nippon Airways and United and all lay overs are manageable (no less than 1 hour and no more than 3 hours). I booked through United after finding the flights I wanted on Google Flights for $750 CDN each.
