Calgary to Bangkok, Thailand - $657 to $697 CAD roundtrip including taxes | new record!

United Airlines and ANA are showing some cheap flights from Calgary to Bangkok, Thailand for $657 to $697 CAD roundtrip including taxes.
The best flights I've seen for this price have 2 stops each way, in Los Angeles and Tokyo, where the flight on the way there is operated by United between Los Angeles and Tokyo, and operated by ANA on the way home, through Vancouver.
The flights have good layover lengths along the way (2.5 to 3 hours each).
There are also a few flights that are operated by ANA both ways, for $743 roundtrip.

How to find and book this deal
1. Try this Google Flights search:
Google Flights: Calgary to Bangkok, Thailand
Click on the departure date box to open up the calendar view and browse for cheap date combinations.
Look for the dates that are $698 roundtrip.

I've also been seeing these in September and October 2018. On a lot of the dates I've tried, the price jumps up significantly from Google Flights once you click through to the booking site.
But I've seen some where the price does actually verify. Such as Sep 19 to Oct 3 for $697.
It's worth trying a bunch of different dates. Generally, if you can get to to the final flight selection page on Google Flights, and can still see it for $698 beside the 'Book with United button' - the price will verify.
2. Select your flights and click through to the United Airlines website.

You can also turn these into 2-in-1 trips that allow you to spend time in both Thailand *and* Japan for $115 more ($812 CAD roundtrip). Doing it this way also helps break up the long journey, with good flights the entire way.

Google Flights: Calgary to Thailand, and then to Japan, and then home
Try using start and end dates from the list of regular roundtrip flights above.
Play around with the middle date to give yourself more or less time in Thailand vs Japan.

Update 11/26 - You can now find these flights from Calgary to Bangkok, Thailand for as low as $657 CAD roundtrip including taxes!
1. Try this Google Flights search:
Google Flights: Calgary to Bangkok, Thailand
Click on the departure date box to open up the calendar view and browse for cheap date combinations.
Look for the cheaper date combinations in September and October 2018. They are around $677 CAD roundtrip.
2. Go to Momondo
Search for a flight from Calgary to Bangkok, Thailand (BKK)
Try the same dates you found on Google Flights.
I've had the best luck with clicking through from Momondo to GoToGate. With some booking sites, the price isn't always verifying (such as FareBoom).
NOTE: After your Momondo search completes, slide the 'Max Flight Duration' slider on the left down to around 51. Otherwise you may see some slightly cheaper flights that are way longer.

You can also turn these into 2-in-1 trips that allow you to spend time in both Thailand *and* Japan for $799 CAD roundtrip. Doing it this way also helps break up the long journey, with good flights the entire way.

Google Flights: Calgary to Thailand, and then to Japan, and then home
Try using start and end dates that are similar to the cheap dates you found for a regular roundtrip flight to Bangkok.
Play around with the middle date to give yourself more or less time in Thailand vs Japan.
NOTE: I've found that selecting the first flight choice on Google Flights for the first leg (the one that's $777) usually leads to a dead end, where the price can't actually be booked. Try starting by selecting the third choice on Google Flights (the one that's $800, with 24 hours of travel time) for the first leg of the journey.
The goal is to select all 3 legs of the journey in Google Flights, and have it show a 'Book with United' button for $800, like in the screenshot below. If it doesn't show this button, the price Google Flights is claiming can't really be booked.

Update 12/16 - Flights from Calgary to Bangkok, Thailand are back again today for $657 CAD roundtrip including taxes for travel in September and October 2018. There are also dates in April 2018 for $716 CAD roundtrip.

Look for the dates that are $662 roundtrip.
2. Go to Momondo
Search for a flight from Calgary to Bangkok, Thailand (BKK)
Try the same dates you found on Google Flights.
