United Airlines and ANA (All Nippon Airways) have dropped the price of their flights from Calgary to Bangkok, Thailand down to between $525 and $564 CAD roundtrip including taxes.
This is a new record for the cheapest flights from Calgary to Thailand. Obliterating the previous record that was just set a few months ago!

How to find and book this deal
1. Try starting with a Google Flights search like this one:
Google Flights: Calgary to Bangkok, Thailand
- click on the departure date box to open up the calendar view and browse for cheap date combinations around $569 to $591 CAD roundtrip
- Search for a flight from Calgary (YYC) to Bangkok, Thailand (BKK)
- Use the same dates you found on Google Flights

- Trips don't have to be 2 weeks, they can be longer or shorter.

You can also find 2-in-1 trips that allow you to visit both Thailand AND Japan for a total of around $674 CAD roundtrip including taxes
1. Go to Flighthub
2. Change the Trip Type to 'Multi-City'
3. Search for a flight like this one:
Calgary (YYC) to Tokyo, Japan (TYO)
Tokyo, Japan (TYO) to Bangkok, Thailand (BKK)
Bangkok, Thailand (BKK) to Calgary (YYC)
- For the first and third flights, try using dates that are the same as the cheap dates you found for a regular roundtrip flight on Google Flights.
- Play around with the middle date to give yourself more or less time in Japan vs Thailand.
- Trips don't have to be 2 weeks, they can be longer.
- Other days of the week may also work. I would focus on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday dates.

A lot of people want to know: "What happens if I just decide to stay in Tokyo, Japan and not go to Bangkok. Can I do that?"
Unfortunately all airlines will automatically cancel the remaining flights on your ticket, as soon as you intentionally miss any leg of the journey.
What you could do is try looking for one with a long stay in Tokyo, but a really short stay in Bangkok.
For example, May 24 to Jun 5 to Jun 6 is $645.
The flight gets into Bangkok at 11 PM on the Tuesday, and leaves the next day at around 7 AM.

If you play around with dates, you can get round-trip to Tokyo for $1300 almost. Only issue would be flying to Bangkok, sleeping overnight, and then flying back to Tokyo again on the way out... if you booked the flight to Bangkok with a layover in Tokyo, could you just not show up for the Bangkok flight, spend the extra night in Tokyo and fly out of Tokyo as scheduled the next day?

Mike, if you fly into Tokyo and skip on onward to Bangkok you forfeit the entire rest of the trip. Don't do that.

One night in Bangkok and the world's your oyster.
I just booked Feb 11 to April 25th for $609, the flight out is kinda crap with overnight in Denver but if you want to go earlier than April, it's better than paying double.
Does anyone have experience booking with GOTOGATE?
I have found a flight from Calgary to Bangkok for $525 return (April 10-May 23).. seems too good to be true, the flights are with ANA but you can only book them through the GOTOGATE website and the same flights and prices cannot be found on the ANA website.

These ANA flights have been around for quite a long time now. It's a crazy price, but definitely not too good to be true.
With virtually every ANA deal I've seen, once you book them with the third party website, you are sent your e-ticket number that allows you to check your booking on the ANA website to make sure all is well.
It's also pretty common for ANA to offer these low prices through third party websites, even when their own website is showing a much higher price. I've seen quite a few ANA deals like this over the years from Canadian cities.
Is this deal still available?
Alice: I'm still seeing some cheaper date combinations on Momondo, although about $50 higher than they were before:
Calgary to Bangkok, Thailand (BKK)
May 23 to Jun 6 -- $579
May 30 to Jun 13 -- $579
Jun 6 to Jun 20 -- $579
And there's also now some dates in January 2019, such as Jan 14 to Jan 28 for $529.
