Calgary to Belize | $491 roundtrip after taxes | August to mid December

United Airlines is currently undergoing an unadvertised fare drop on their flights from Calgary to Belize City (BZE). Prices look to have dropped in the months of August, September, October, November, and up to mid-December.

UPDATE 1: July 16: The cheap United fares appear to be gone.

UPDATE 2: July 18 - People are reporting that there are still some some cheap date combos available on United. November 10 to 21 for example.

Often, the problem with getting to Belize from Calgary is finding flights with a decent connection each way. The fastest way to get there and back is typically on United, with a 1-2 hour layover in Houston each way.

To find these flights with decent connections each way, it looks like you will want to focus on flights departing Calgary on Tuesdays, and returning on a Thursday.

So here is what I would do...

1. Go to www.United.ca

2. Enter the following...

From: Calgary, AB Canada (YYC)
To: Belize City, Belize (BZE)

3. Change it from 'Search Specific Dates' to 'My Dates Are Flexible'

4. Choose your Depart month. Under 'Length of Trip', select 9 days

5. Hit Search

Now you should see a calendar of fares, like this:


Select a Tuesday departure date.

On the next page, you will be able to choose your departing flight and the connection, and it will look like this:


What you're looking for is a connection time of 1 hour, 20 minutes. If it's a ridiculously long connection time, you may want to hit Back on your browser, and try another Tuesday date.

If it does look like a reasonable connection time, hit Select, and choose your return flight, and hopefully it will also have a reasonable connection time.

If you can't find any date combos that have good connection times each way, here are some date combos that currently have both a cheap price and good connection times...

Oct 29 to Nov 7
Nov 5 to Nov 14
Nov 28 to Dec 06
Dec 3 to Dec 12

If anyone sees any other date combos with reasonable connection times each way, please comment below.

Note that on United, you can 'FareLock' your fare for up to 72 hours, while you decide, for a small fee.

    Great connection times departing Calgary, but couldn't find any return flights less than 20 hours.
    Ideas?

    Here is an option with good flights both ways:

    Alternatively, work the weekend into this itinerary as well. You have to take a connection in Edmonton, but it's a quick one that I'm sure you'd find doable.

    Aug.-Dec. is the rainy season. Be prepared, bring an umbrella, rain gear, watershoes and bug spray. It's still hot, but it will be pouring. If you are caving you won't notice. Jungle hikes may be slippery so bring grippy shoes. IT's a great country but be prepared for the rain.

    I'd say the rainy season is more June to November. Wouldn't hesitate to visit in November, it's usually pretty dry by then.
